After 28 years again India won ICC World Cup

Finally after a long wait of 28 years, team India beat SriLanka by 6 wickets and won ICC World Cup for second time in Mumbai. India became new ICC World Cup champions 2011.
SriLanka won the toss and elected to bat first to give India 275 runs target. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 91 not out and Gautam Gambhir made 97 runs and made the victory possible by beating SriLanka by 6 wickets to Win ICC World Cup 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday.
India reached the target with 10 balls remaining for completing the biggest chase in the World Cup final history. Dhoni Scored final runs with a fantastic six. Gambhir also played a brilliant inning under pressure conditions. He said in an interview, “It has not sunk in yet, this is just a dream come true.”
After winning this World Cup trophy Dhoni also joined legendry Kapil Dev to lift the most desirable trophy in India. Today Dhoni played captain’s inning in top clash and hit 2 sixes & 8 fours in his fantastic inning of 91 runs in just 79 balls. He was declared as a man of the Match and Yuvraj Singh became the Man of the tournament.
SriLanka had appeared in an excellent position after Mahela Jayawardane scored not out century just from 88 balls. Lasith Malinga also gave a good start and removed Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar in beginning.
At the last Sachin Tendulkar comes out running with a cute smile and then he was lifted by couple of players. Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan and Harbhajan Singh lifted up Sachin Tendulkar on their shoulders. The lap continues, the crowd roars and the flags wave. Finally there is smile on the every Indian face, since after 28 years again India won ICC World Cup.
